If you haven’t heard of Jane Iredale, I wouldn’t be too surprised. I was only made aware of the brand a few months ago, on a visit to Illuminate Skin Clinic. As a self confessed make up addict its quite rare for me not to have heard of a brand of make up. So as soon as I saw the display I was instantly intrigued, What first struck me was the gorgeous high quality packaging. I had a chance to have a play with some of the products and was blown away at the formulas, I couldn’t believe this isn’t a more well known brand.
Known as ‘The Skin Care Makeup’, the Jane Iredale range of products is so beneficial and safe to use, that plastic surgeons and dermatologists all over the world recommend it. Combining the most up-to-date colours with skin care benefits, Jane Iredale products:
– Are non-comedogenic, so will not block pores.
– Have virtually no allergy risk.
– Have been sensitivity tested and are anti-inflammatory.
– Offer broad-spectrum UVA & UVB protection – up to SPF 30.
– Are very water resistant.
– Offer complete coverage for skin conditions such as acne, redness and rosacea.
– Contain no talc or parabens and are composed of inert minerals that cannot support bacteria.
– Are not tested on animals.
Jane Iredale products use a highly-sophisticated blend of minerals and pigments that are micro-pulverised – meaning that your skin is allowed to breathe and function normally whilst wearing the makeup, whilst being protected from air-borne pollutants. You’ll rarely need to touch-up during the day, due to the staying power of the minerals – plus, they won’t crease or smear!
I ended up purchasing the BB cream for my mum as I knew she would love the mix of the creamy texture and the extremely high coverage. Luckily for me the International institute for Anti – Aging (the UK representatives of Jane Iredale) saw my tweets stating how impressed I was with the brand and got in contact to see if I would like to try some more of the Jane Iredale range.
I received the gorgeous Naturally Matte Eyeshadow palette*, which has 5 matte pressed powders in a range of extremely wearable earthy tones. Housed in a sleek lightweight palette with a big mirror and a double ended brush.
Buttercream – Matte creamy neutral
Hush – Sheer soft pink
Slate Brown – Matte grey brown
Eggplant – Matte rose brown
Fudge – Matte deep chocolate
As soon as I got my hands on the palette, I couldn’t resist having a play. One of my all time favourite looks is a classic nude smokey eye which this palette is perfect for creating. Here’s how I used the palette to create the look.
The shadows are beautiful and the shades are all shades I will use. In this look I didn’t use the shade slate brown the more eye toned shadow yet I will without doubt use this in different looks. Which is brilliant as most palettes I end up with at least one or two shades never really getting any use. The formula of the shadows is really creamy and not at all chalky. As matte eyeshadows go this is without doubt one of the easiest to use and blend, up there with the urban decay mattes. You can get your hands on Jane Iredale products here.
