I’m a big fan of smokey eyes and a nude lip. So when looking to invest in my first ever Tom Ford Lipstick I automatically looked towards the nuder shades. After much deliberation I decide the first of my lippies (and probably not my last) would be Vanilla suede. It was one of the original Tom Ford lipstick collection so I thought it would be a good place to start me off. This is without doubt the lightest and palest lip colours I own.
The packaging is so luxurious, A heavy weighted black with gold rimmed casing, covers the beautiful nude toned lipstick embossed with a big TF.
The colour itself is a creamy pale peach nude with a golden shimmer. Although it may look like a shade that would wash you out, once on it is extremely pretty, it shows up differently on everyone depending on the colour of your natural lip colour. However I love the natural yet shimmering golden cream colour, which adds another dimension to your lips stopping them disappearing like with many really pale nudes.
The formula almost melts into your lips and lasts about 4 hours in total. The finish is slightly frosty so if your not a fan of frosty lipsticks this may not be for you. At £38.00 though this lipstick has a rather hefty price and although the shade is really pretty. I’m sure you could find a similar shade a lot cheaper.
For me it’s the perfect light nude without being too opaque that it looks ghostly. It looks amazing with a dramatic eye or for an everyday look. I also love to use it over the top of some of my matte lipsticks to create a hint of shimmer. So if you are looking to invest in a Tom Ford lipstick I’d recommend going for a shade that you will wear again and again, as it’s a lot to pay for one lipstick.
All in all I really like the shade and the formula yet considering the price I wasn’t blown away. It’s a good lipstick but I could get 5 similar lipsticks for the cost of one, you are without doubt paying for the name and packaging.
