Hair REV – Hair Supplements

Like most of us I’m always looking for ways to make my hair healthier and grow quicker, spending hundreds on hair products each year, we could be overlooking one of the easiest and cost effective ways to help our hair by getting the right vitamins and nutrients. Although most of us try to get the right vitamins from our diets it’s easier said than done. So these supplements make it a lot simpler to ensure you’re getting what your hair needs.

I was sent these supplements by Hair Rev to try. I was really excited to give these ago and see if supplements really do make a difference to my hairs growth and overall condition.

If you read my blog regularly you’ll know I’m guilty of one of the worst things you can do to your hair, bleaching it. I have mousy brown hair naturally so to get my silver hair colour my hair needed to be bleached and my roots need doing at least every month. Not the best way to help your hair grow and look healthy. My hair is quite long but it snaps easily and I shed hair constantly. So I couldn’t wait to give these a shot, hoping these would help my new hair growth be stronger.

Like with all supplements you should check with your GP before using. So once I’d checked they wouldn’t interfere with any of the medication I take. I had my first pill, the tablets are averaged sized about 2cm in length and slipped down easily with a sip of water. You are advised to take the tablets three times a day with food so I kept the bottle in my handbag so I could grab them during the day.

The tablets are filled with vitamins and ingredients added with your hair in mind. So what is in them and why?

  • Biotin: This key supplement helps to improve keratin level in your body, which leads to healthy growing hair. It improves hair elasticity and protects the hair from dryness. It also helps thicken the hair to give the appearance of fullness. No wonder why we’ve added it in our formula!

  • Zinc: It helps to keep the hair follicles strong, maintaining your hair strong.

  • Calcium: Of all the minerals your body contains, calcium is the most abundant. It is essential for many bodily processes, including healthy hair growth. The calcium in your hair helps to stimulate communication between cells, thereby promoting hair growth and healthy follicles.

  • Folic Acid: This is important in maintaining the colour of your hair and promoting hair growth.

  • Vitamin B: Vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 are all antioxidant and all play a vital role in healthy hair growth. Deficiency in these vitamins can lead to hair loss, so you’d better be taking them seriously!

  • Vitamin A: This vitamin is another antioxidant, great for your hair and scalp health as it prevents it drying out.

  • Vitamin C: Vitamin C deficiencies can cause hair that is weak, lusterless, and prone to breakage. And that’s the opposite of what we are looking for!

  • Vitamin D: It helps the body absorb calcium (which is great as our formula also has calcium!) and prevents hair shedding.

… And a lot of vitamins!

It took two weeks for me to really notice any difference, however my hair seemed shiner and weirdly less knotty. My hair appeared stronger and there was a lot less breakage, which is exactly was hoping to achieve. I can’t say I noticed my hair had grown quicker than previously, yet I imagine you would need to be taking the supplements for slightly longer to notice real changes of growth. I also noticed all my other body hair appeared to grow quicker so I do think it was making a difference lol.

Overall I am really impressed with the Hair REV supplements and they have really made a difference to my hair.
