Make up Revolution’s Lip Lava

When I saw that Make up Revolution where launching there own liquid lipstick range I couldn’t contain my excitement. I have been majorly impressed with the previous products of theirs that I have tried so I was eager to give these a shot.

I haven’t purchased any of the Too Faced Melted lipsticks so can’t compare textures etc. Yet these are without doubt very similar and after reading other bloggers comparisons some of the shades are pretty much exact dupes.

The Lipsticks come in 12ml squeezy tubes that’s packaging is the same shade as the colour inside. The tubes have a sponge applicator which the liquid lipstick seeps into so there isn’t any waste. The slanted angle also helps with the ease of the application.

There are five different shades in the range.

Shockwave – An Extremely bright lilac shade with blue undertones.

Tremor – A pretty neutral to warm toned pink. Quite bright yet easy to wear.

Firestorm – A Classic Blue toned Red. its less opaque and with a more of glossy finish than the others. Due to its more watery formula it is harder to get an even level of coverage.

Unleash – An extremely bright and vibrant orangey coral Shade that is almost a neon orange when first applied.

Forgiven – My favourite shade of the range a classic creamy brown nude.

The lipsticks apply as almost a wet look gloss then dry to a semi matte almost wax like finish . Prepping of the lips is vital as they do tend to settle into fine lines. Yet I love the fact it isn’t too matte as if you have drier lips like mine, matte lipsticks can be quite hard to pull off. The only issue I did have is the lipstick did transfer on to my teeth when first applied so it is worth letting it dry a bit before continuing with your daily activities. This was only with the red shade though which I think is because the formula is slightly more watery.

If you have been longing to try a liquid lipstick, then these are perfect and at only £2.99 you cant really go wrong. Especially when the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks are £19.00 each. I would love for them to extend the range of shades and maybe bring in some full on glossy finishes. I love how super pigmented these are and they are really long lasting which is fab!!

Have you tried these yet? Do you own any liquid lipsticks? Which of the shades do you like best? Let me know all your thoughts by commenting below!

Lots of Love,
